Located just a few miles outside the beautiful town of Shrewsbury, there is plenty to do in the local area surrounding Beaconsfield. Whether you want to explore the local town or head off on a countryside walk, the options are endless.

Shrewsbury

Shrewsbury town has over 600 listed buildings including the Castle and the Abbey. Relax in the beautiful Quarry Park or take a boat trip on the River Severn.

The historic centre is a shopper’s heaven packed with designer shops, smart new malls and an amazing range of independent retailers.  Shrewsbury is also the venue for the world famous Flower Show in August every year. Take advantage of the Shrewsbury Park & Ride system, based in Harlescott, Meole Brace and Oxon for ease of travelling in and out.

For the walkers

For walkers and nature lovers there is the “Little Switzerland” town of Church Stretton and the hills of the Long Mynd. Where ever you go you will find country pubs with good food, little tea rooms, quaint shops of all varieties and, above all, a warm welcome. Beaconsfield is located on the Shropshire / Welsh border which makes it ideally located for trips to Mid Wales.

With the picturesque border town of Welshpool, with the spectacular Powis Castle and the Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway – one of the great little trains of Wales. A little further leads to Lake Vyrnwy, Bala Lake and the Snowdonia National Park are only an hours drive, while the pretty coastal towns of Harlech, Barmouth and Porthmadog are only around two hours drive.

A little closer to home

Closer to home there are many walks or cycle rides around the quiet Shropshire country lanes, with the Shropshire Way passing through the Park. Or you could even just stay on the park, relax and fish in our well-stocked pools, take advantage of our indoor swimming pool, steam room and adjacent coffee shop. Followed by a freshly prepared meal in our table-licensed Bothy Restaurant.
